You will probably find several other things in Breezy that do not work with 2.6.18. 2.6.15 had a completely overhauled hotplug architecture, thus needs a matching udev, etc. pp. This patch is not the type of thing we fix in stable releases, since it is not a high-impact/data- loss/security bug, nor can it be guaranteed that the patch does not induce any regressions when using the standard breezy kernel.
