I can confirm that the fix from fd.o (comment #10 ) works for me. I'm running kernel v4.0-rc3 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.0-rc3-vivid/ (not recommended for unexperienced users...), and after removing the quirks from pm-suspend, the machine recovers from suspend without issues. I was told in IRC (#ubuntu-kernel @ freenode) that the patch will be included in the next batch of kernel releases.
