Had the same problem on an HP ZBook 15u G2 and Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux 3.16.0-31-generic).
Since HP is officially offering this computer with Ubuntu preinstalled, I imagine that they are going to fix this with a future BIOS update (the notebook just got newly introduces). For now passing memory_corruption_check_size=128K appears to avoid the issue.
