Hi, I can confirm that I see this on current gutsy 0.18-0ubuntu1 xchat-gnome package; for me when I open the spell check preference window the set of options ticked is correct (English US/ and UK), but if I click on another option (e.g. the en-gb underneath) the whole list inverts - so only english us and english uk are left unselected and the rest are shown as selected. I suppose it is a separate question why there is both an English UK and an en-gb.
