3) CanoScan N676U/LIDE 20 is detected (device dialog) when xsane is
started. When acquire preview or scan button is clicked, the hardware
scans the document (light, movement, and sound).
4) CanoScan N676U/LIDE 20 does not scan in xsane with kernel version
3.13.0-45-generic. Was working in previously released kernels.
Software "simulates" scan but hardware does not actually scan (no light,
movement, or sound), resulting in a black image as the output. Tried
starting xsane in LibreOffice, Skanlite and GIMP with the same result.
Scanner found to scan properly in an old laptop running 10.04.4 LTS in
xsane, LibreOffice, and GIMP.
