No, that's the only file affected. Please check /var/log/Xorg.log.0 which shows messages for your latest X session if you have problems with shared memory. I have a Dell laptop and was having problems even though I had SHMConfig set to true. The problem was that the synaptics driver failed to load, which I saw in that log file. Some other module was loaded instead which didn't have that functionality.
