This happened to me (Ubuntu 14.04 64 bits, gnome-maps 3.10.2-1ubuntu1) the first time I installed the package: nothing would happen when launching it. So I uninstalled it, and when I wanted to check something after seeing this bug report, I re-installed it (I restarted the computer between installations) and now it works fine.
