Mahdi: Unfortunately what I understand from this interchange of messages on lkml: http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/9/5/166 is that the changes (acer and toshiba quirks went in after 1.0.14 both) are considered too risky for mainline 2.6.23. So I suppose that our sound will not be supported in mainline till 2.6.24.
