Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

Suspend and hibernate, in Fiesty don't work perfectly on all laptops,
and a user will definitely be look at ways to fix this.

Searching 'suspend', 'broken suspend', 'hibernate' and 'broken
hibernate' in the yelp files doesn't yield any satisfactory results,
just small articles on how to suspend.

This issue should be addressed, as it'll help make diagnosing easier.

I'm not really a technical expert, yet, but I'll try and gather any
available info on this.

The page here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SuspendHowto?highlight=%28suspend%29
seems to be outdated, it's only for 6.06.

Another page is here
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Suspend2Kernel?action=show&redirect=Suspend2ForFeisty),
but it's quite complex, and with a 'BE AWARE THERE ARE KNOWN PROBLEMS
WITH THIS APPROACH' warning, it's not something you'd want to try out...

I found this blog page to be useful
(http://blog.paulbetts.org/index.php/2007/02/11/fixing-software-suspend-
hibernate-with-uswsusp-in-ubuntu-feisty-and-edgy/). Especially Robin
Battey's post near the top of the page, where he describes an easier way
of setting it up, and, making the procedure look much nicer with splash
screens.

If anyone can help me sort this mess out, I'd be really grateful. Broken
suspend/hibernate really turns laptop users away.
