FYI I had another go at compiling the Realtek driver. After a couple of reboots I tried this in alsa-base.conf :
options snd-hda-intel model=inv-dmic I now have sound via the internal speakers but not the headphones. Pulse still shows "speakers unavailable" even though it is playing through them Can you tell me where I can get "hda-jack-sense-test" as it is not in my installed version of alsa-tool ** Attachment added: "Installed alsa version" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1408856/+attachment/4294579/+files/InstalledAlsa.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1408856 Title: [HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC, Realtek ALC268, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1408856/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
