There is no main.log in /var/log/dist-upgrade/. I've come to the conclusion that the update was from the ultimate repo (http://repoubuntusoftware.info/) that I had in sources, It had been off line for quite a while and I forgot about it, when It came back online I think it triggered the update notification. I thought it was a normal feisty update and allowed it.
I still don't know why it buggered up things like it did. I still can't logon to my normal session with Gnome or XGL but KDE works normally. Since I prefer Gnome (and Compiz Fusion), I've been using XGL with my root session until I get some time to finish fixing my normal session. Sorry about the bug report but until last night I thought the update was from the official source. Is there a indication in update-manager showing which repo a update is coming from? Thanks very much for your time on this. -John -- latest feisty update error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138285 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
