I had the same problem, especially at boot time. To get it to stop I
removed /etc/rc2.d/S05vbesave and any files with the same name in the
other rcx.d folders. I also disabled the restricted drivers in
System->Admininstration->restricted drivers. That worked for me and
didn't seem to affect my computer in any negative way.
