You can easily restore and use the classic tray icon which is provided by xfce4-power-manager. Do not forget to remove the "indicator-power" package.
Since indicator-power is maintained by the Ubuntu Desktop developers, I am not sure if they are willing to change its behavior/functionality to mimic something different. On top of that, Xubuntu 14.10 has dropped indicator-power in favor of the new xfce4-power-manager panel plugin. ** Package changed: xfce4-power-manager (Ubuntu) => indicator-power (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1380115 Title: tooltip missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-power/+bug/1380115/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
