Google Calendars broke for me a few weeks ago. Thunderbird/Lightening kept prompting over and over for my password.
My fix was to convert all my calendar links to CalDAV and dispense with the "Google Calendar" settings in Lightning. To use CalDAV, logon to Google web and fetch the Calendar ID (Google Calendar-> calendar name -> Settings). Next to the calendar XML/ICAL/HTML buttons will be a Calendar ID, for example, "en.christian#[email protected]". Then, add a new calendar and specify a CalDAV URL. For example, https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/en.christian#[email protected]/events An OAuth style username/password and permission page will appear asking for permission to manage your calendars. Authenticate and grant permission and you should see your calendars in the calendar.
