i did not want to be negative in my comment - indexing is very
important, but also very difficult.

i tell you my experience yesterday (with version 0.6.2.0)
i was searching a mailbox in balsa - and it did not make progress

i was installing software (apg-get probably) and it seemed to stall such
that i restarted (and got into troubles with the lock...)

but i observe that neither memory usage (i have 1 gb) nor disk usage is
high. what are the other resources tracker competes with others (or
rather hugs).

i look forward to the updates!

(ps. it should be relatively easy to analyse mailboxes (mbox) wherever
they are encountered and not specialize for evolution - you leave out
users of firefox and of other mail programs)

good luck - i know that this is difficult
