@Joseph: The only thing I am pretty sure of is that it did not happen in Trusty. But that would not help to perform a kernel bisect.
I think that the it happens less often with 3.16.0-24 than with 3.16.0-25, but I have no real data because it happens nondeterministically. On -24 it only seems to happen if the last suspend was a short time (less than half an hour) ago, while it seems to work mostly if last suspend is long ago. With 3.16.0-25 (from proposed updates repository) it seems to work almost never, but some single times it worked. Btw. there are no freezes on wake-up, the only problem are unplanned wake-ups.
