Since I've encoutered that bug, I have changed two lines in /etc/default/grub: #GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480 -> GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x800 GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1280x800 -> GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep
