My Acer Travelmate 4002WLMi has the same problem. One interesting note is that today I closed the lid of the computer and it did not go to sleep. I just decided to leave it as-is (awake with lid closed), and came back about an hour later. I then opened the lid and started using the computer. About 15 minutes into using the computer, it decided to suspend!
