Toshiba NB500, with rtl8188ce wireless card. Lubuntu 14.04 32 bit up-to-date. Tested with 3.13.0.32, 3.13.0.36 & 3.13.0.37.
The wifi is unstable. The connection is lost after about 30 minutes. Reboot is needed for reconnecting. Tried different solutions: http://askubuntu.com/questions/456453/realtek-rtl8188ce-wireless-driver- unstable-in-ubuntu-14-04 http://askubuntu.com/questions/414974/realtek-rtl8192ce-wireless-slow- intermittent-access http://askubuntu.com/questions/503763/connection-dropouts-with-realtek- rtl8188ce https://github.com/FreedomBen/rtl8188ce-linux-driver The best solution (for me) seems to be: echo "options rtl8192ce ips=0 fwlps=0 swlps=0 swenc=0" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8192ce.conf sudo reboot I'm testing now. It seems to increment stability but after 1 or 2 hours, no connection. I'm using iwevent on a terminal to control how much time it takes to fail. The command: modinfo rtl8192ce provides some information about the options for the module rtl8192ce (used for the rtl8188ce card). And: systool -v -m rtl8192ce permits to see the state of these options. For systool, package sysfsutils is needed. I have more than 100 netbooks with this problem. They used 10.04 and 12.04 before, without this problem! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268833 Title: 10ec:8178 Wireless not working in 13.10 and 14.04 for rtl8192ce (RTL8188CE)/asus pce-n15 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1268833/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
