The gnome tools are simple, but they are completely useless for sharing
with windows machines until the security model is changed from "user" to
"share" in smb.conf.  Otherwise, there is an impassable password prompt
whenever a user on a windows machine tries to access a samba share.
It's been like this for at least the last 3 releases of Ubuntu, and I
keep having to figure out what to change in smb.conf whenever I get
bitten by this issue, which is at least twice now.
