Public bug reported:

Every 5 seconds a new instance of xfce4-display is being launched, this makes
the computer unusable.
This started happening after a recent upgrade/update.

Prior to that upgrade/update the xfce4-display program was being
launched every time that power was added or removed from this laptop --
which was plenty annoying enough... Prior to installing 14.04 there
was no problem at all with xfce4-display.

I am running ubuntustudio on an hp pavilion dv7-4270us laptop

I have tested this with both the Low Latency kernel that comes with
ubuntustudio AND the Generic kernel, with the same behavior.

3.13.0-36: launches every 5 seconds (impossible to use computer)
3.13.0-35: launches every 5 seconds -- this is when the problem started

3.13.0-34: launches when wallpower is added or removed (very annoying)
3.13.0-29: same as 3.13.0-34

ubuntustudio 13.10 no problems

** Affects: xfce4 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
