Sorry, after more testing I saw that my explanations are not good. In
fact, I see two different problems  (which might go in 2 different bug
reports...) :
If the above box is tick and an external screen connected :
  - nothing appears -> 
  - when you manually open "xfce4-display-settings", it also starts  
"xfce4-display-settings -m"

   -> without doing anything other than connecting the screen, "xfce4
-display-settings -m" should automatically start, or the text across the
box needs to be changed, for example with "When this window is opened
after the connection of an external screen, automatically configure the
screen."

If the above box is untick and an external screen connected :
  - nothing appears -> normal in my sense
  - when you start "xfce4-display-settings -m" via command line or keybiard 
shorcut, it automatically open a other window of  "xfce4-display-settings -m"

    -> the result is two opened windows, really disturbing for the user.
It should check if one is already opened.
