I got the same message when I used the utopic-desktop installation DVD (20140906). And also when I upgraded my freshly installed Lubuntu 14.04.1 to 14.10. My hardware is a iBook G3 600Mhz.
The hardware specs can be found here: https://gist.github.com/66e1b550cc5f9b766096. After the upgrade I stil boot using the 14.04.1 kernel (3.13.0-35 -powerpc-smp).
