The problem here is that sometimes EDS is not getting started or starts and crashes. Whenever the contacts are blank, ps reveals that evolution- addressbook-factory is not running. This should get started by dbus activation, and we've now explicitly started it via the address-book- service.conf upstart job but yet the problem still happens occasionally. The conclusion is eds is crashing somehow, so we need to get a crash file to determine what is happening there.
Steps to reproduce: - install some packages on your device (via apt-get install or citrain device-upgrade) - log onto device - sudo reboot - after reboot, send a text message to phone - open messaging app - notice if your conversations have contacts associated or not, if not means the problem has happend. Or you can open address book app and see if it is blank. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1347557 Title: contacts disappeared sometimes after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/address-book-service/+bug/1347557/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
