The same problem exists with suspend/resume when closing the laptop lid. By adding "acpi=off" as a kernel boot parameter this avoids the hanging on suspend/restart/reboot.
For reference I also tried the following, none of which fixed/avoided the problem. - ubuntu 14.10 alpha 2 - ubuntu 13.10 - ubuntu 14.04 with mainline kernel version v3.12.26-trusty and v3.16-utopic - using suspend shell script described here http://askubuntu.com/questions/453372/suspend-is-not-working-after-updating-to-ubuntu-14-04-from-13-10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1341925 Title: [Dell Inspiron 11 - 3147] System will hang on reboot / poweroff To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1341925/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
