I'm working on this at the moment; memory usage has actually gone up since this bug was filed (now closer to 60mb), I'm refactoring the keyboard to bring it at least back down to the 40mb region by reducing the number of hunspell instances we have in various threads (hunspell is pretty memory hungry since it seems to load the whole dictionary into memory). There's a couple of other areas I think we can get some improvements in the keyboard itself, haven't yet found anything promising in the maliit-framework side, but will have a deeper look there once we've got all the memory improvements we can get out of the keyboard plugin itself.
