I have two installations of 14.04 Desktop. One done as a fresh install, which is now with kernell 3.13.0-32-generic and has no problem to show network activiy. The other was installed as an upgrade from 12.04, it has now the same 3.13.0-32-generic kernell, and shows no activity at all, though I may be transferring lots of data either from local network or the Internet. The only difference I see is how the installation was done: fresh/upgrade. Does this help anybody to finding the problem?
