Adjust the device to format as appropriate with both util-linux 2.20 and 2.24 the synchronization after initial wipe fails, unless i use the silence option as demonstrated. I'll try to figure out how to run a similar thing as an autopkgtest, such that formating works when util-linux is upgraded and this fix is reverted.
