Sorry it took a little while but I now tried the kernel: linux-image-3.16.0-031600rc4-generic_3.16.0-031600rc4.201407061635_amd64.deb and there is no change in the fan behavior. Still afer suspending and resuming again the fans work as they should.
The first kernerl link I tried gave me a message saying there was dependencies not satisfied. it was this version: linux- headers-3.16.0-031600rc4-generic_3.16.0-031600rc4.201407061635_amd64.deb the other seemed to be a larger file and had "Image" image as opposed to "headers" in the link/download file name. I took these files from the following webpage: http://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.16-rc4-utopic/ I hope this was the proper place. I downloaded the file, and it prompted the software manager to pop up and it was as simple as installing new software. I rebooted and things were as usual. Thanks for your continued help. Ill try to be as best of help as I can. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225270 Title: [Satellite L350D PSLE8C-03G019] Cooling fans not responding to temperature increase on first startup causing overheating.
