AFAICT, the code doesn't do anything with gids. It only creates the user ACL.
Also, I understand there are other files that probably need their perms changed. However, my only point was that udisks is in a position to be more helpful by either informing the user of what is happening or rewriting permissions. And I imagine that one could use dbus to send a message back to the user. FWIW, I totally agree with you about changing UIDs. It's a PITA. I just think this UX could be more helpful about either fixing or at least informing the user of the problem. Also, I file these bugs because I want to be part of making Ubuntu better. I just want you all to know that. I find a lot of these bugs when people complain to me about their computers not working for one reason or another. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1335384 Title: udisks does not fix or inform user about bad permissions on /media/<username> directory after uid change To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks2/+bug/1335384/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
