The following "slight" problem has stopped us from till now from including these fonts in the packages, namely that the fonts are licensed under the GUST Font License, while the original fonts (URW++ ones) are licensed under GPLv2. Now, the problem is: (or are) - who can decide whether this is a derived work or not? If it is it has to be licensed under GPLv2 - URW++ will not sue anybody, but this is an assumption, what if? So my current plan is the following: - Create separate packages for the tex gyre fonts (already done) - upload the package to the NEW queue of Debian AND at the same time inform the ftp-masters about the situation - wait for their decision. I don't and will not decide on this, I am not a lawyer. And I guess none of us is a lawyer to decide whether it is a derived work or independent. In any case, I am sure that it will NOT do it into gutsy. But the fonts are not hard to install anyway into TEXMFLOCAL ...
