I don't really get what is happening to you guys... I used to see this
bug, but not anymore since at least 13.10. I'm using eclipse on a daily
basis with no problem (with egit and a clovergui plugin based on GEF). I
just upgraded to Luna (4.4.0), and things work just fine.

Here is my .desktop file:

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Eclipse
Comment=Eclipse Integrated Development Environment
Icon=/home/franck/devel/outils/eclipse-4.4.0/icon.xpm
Exec=/home/franck/devel/outils/eclipse-4.4.0/eclipse
Terminal=false
Categories=Development;IDE;Java;
StartupWMClass=Eclipse

So there must be another parameter kicking in than just eclipse + unity global
menus, as this work out of the box for me and my coworkers.
Notice I don't use eclipse package as they are outdated, I just use plain
tar.gz directly from eclipse.
