I have 9600 GT and don't have this bug. I'm using 337 drivers and currently updating to 340. Also I have proposed enabled on 14.04 LTS.
Everything here is smooth but I had some flickering launcher tooltips in Unity. This happens very, very rarely and I don't know what triggers it exactly. I noticed that people here have newer NVIDIA GPU.
