I can confirm this bug too. I'm using here Gutsy Tribe 5 and a custom theme with Tango icons. When i use these icons i see text instead of icons inside OOo. Changing the icon theme of Openoffice inside
OOo > Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > View to Tango doesn't help. I've got there the "Tango" option. But choosing it doesn't bring the icons back. Any other icon set out of the appearance capplet works.
