Public bug reported: I've looked at the files provided by the libboost-thread-dev package in breezy, and no .a files are provided.
Is there a reason why this file is not provided ? I use it for compiling a library and right now, ubuntu is the onlly distribution that i know (i don't know much, yes...) that does not install that file. This also seems to be the case in Dapper and edgy. So if someone is developing a program that relies on boost/libboost then they have issues with things compiling correctly since it can't find the .a files. Bug #43368 was filed 4 months ago and seems to not have been assigned to anyone nor was it ever replied to or confirmed. ** Affects: boost (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- no statically linked library in boost thread https://launchpad.net/bugs/59816 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
