Public bug reported: On trusty, 'update-manager -d' recognizes the development release. Upon choosing to proceed, the message about looking for a new release is printed to the shell but then the process hangs and ^C won't kill it.
After trying multiple times I used do-release-upgrade and it worked like a charm. The log files on my system seem to be generated from the successful do-release-upgrade run. This attempt was in a VMWare virtual machine. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dist-upgrade ** Tags added: dist-upgrade -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1332264 Title: trusty -> utopic 'update-manager -d' hangs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1332264/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
