I get this on both a vostro 3360 laptop and a separate machine with a Ralink corp. RT2561/RT61 802.11g PC card and motherboard network . I did think it was something to do with another possible connection being available but it still happens when you disable that conenction in network settings.
Anyway, whatever is wrong, I think this is more than a medium priority because a consistent wifi connection is a requirement of so many apps, amongst others pidgin breaks as a client for gtalk because missed messages are not later loaded. They are just missed. So pidgin is effectively busted. It doesn't seem to happen when the network is in use, so skype for example stops working but not during calls. Fix is to disable enable wifi sometimes disable onboard network (not plugged in), random fiddle basically. Hopefully broken network can be triaged above medium! jeff@antec:~$ uname -a Linux antec 3.13.0-24-generic #47-Ubuntu SMP Fri -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1276238 Title: Wifi Connection Dropping/Need to reconnect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1276238/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
