This is due to a change in unity-system-compositor. Previously the first
client to connect to u-s-c would be set to active (i.e. visible and
controllable by input). The new behaviour is this client is only active
if u-s-c is explicitly told to do so. When running a unity seat (i.e. on
the phone) lightdm would do this for all sessions. When running Mir
sessions from an X seat (i.e. on the desktop) it was not doing this.
Fix is in LightDM to set active session in both cases.
** Changed in: unity-system-compositor (Ubuntu)
