The redhat bugzilla entry mentioned in my original report says it's fixed in a newer kernel: "kernel-3.9.6-200.fc18.x86_64 - affected kernel-3.9.8-300.fc19.x86_64 - not affected"
I judge it very unlikely that an additional ios update would make a difference, and there doesn't seem to be any supported way in Ubuntu to do the BIOS update. ** Changed in: linux-lts-raring (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245464 Title: [Aspire V5-573G] WiFi dropouts with ath9k / AR9462 every 120s To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-raring/+bug/1245464/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
