Same problem with Xubuntu 14.04 32bit on a Lenovo Thinkpad r500. I can`t put the laptop to sleep using the function + sleep key. After closing the lid and opening, the computer goes to a login screen, then goes blank. I`m new to linux, so am having trouble following some of the suggestions.
