Public bug reported: Launcher icon correctly reports the number of available updates, but clicking on the icon does not bring up the Software Updater window. Right-click + choosing "install updates" does work (in the background).
Right-click + choosing "quit", then launching the Software Updater (either from the dash or from the launcher) works OK. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release: 14.04 $ apt-cache policy update-manager update-manager: Installed: 1:0.196.12 Candidate: 1:0.196.12 Version table: *** 1:0.196.12 0 500 http://il.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:0.196.11 0 500 http://il.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: trusty ** Tags added: trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320122 Title: Software Updater does not launch from icon when updates are available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1320122/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
