That'd be great, but if it still is some time off then I suggest making this more visible, since as it is right now the mdadm package doesn't work that well for non-dmraid fakeraid users.
I believe a decent way would be to add a screen to "dpkg-reconfigure mdadm" explaining this and offering to remove dmraid2mdadm.cfg.
