Fair enough (I know about the difference between nv and nvidia - my aim wasn't 
to help you workaround the problem insomuch as have you reproduce the problem 
so it could be properly diagnosed). I would have liked to have seen the log and 
known exactly how the drivers were installed as this is typically the 
information required to correctly categorise bug reports (this does not mean 
the issue will be fixed though).

Some bugs can stick around for a long time requiring retesting,
debugging and recovery steps after the testing which may be unobvious.
If you are just looking for help and workarounds (effectively one off
support) with a particular issue then I would recommend using
https://answers.launchpad.net/ as you may get a faster response and less
may be assumed. Good luck!
