You only get prompted to reconfigure if the previous configuration is broken. That is to say, it says to install to a drive that is no longer present. This is because the upgrade scripts know something has gone wrong and manual intervention is required. If you get that wrong, there's nothing we can do about it. > * The logic in the grub-pc configuration is incorrect. We also can't force a grub-install since there are perfectly valid configurations where this will not be done and they will still be bootable, and we certainly can't tell that you didn't know what you were doing when you said to install to a partition. We also can't *prevent* a reboot. > * The wording of the dialogue is incomprehensible or misleading to > a typical user > >> The grub-pc package is being upgraded. This isn't a bad idea; you should file a separate bug report requesting that. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBCgAGBQJTZsD7AAoJEI5FoCIzSKrwc5UH/i58nkRl4BLJafAmMt6/0BhL WZNRldhjJ0tbAclym6hbHYPaUtRFN7myfBEIKrC9jluRwxJeGrgyyBTClpnJFLav 42+0+neTn2FFBcqbhd3yC7o4j1yoeCsVuCk5Sya57T/ewp43EzbUEyaZxycRihzl b0W69msHIQqiYDkOEzM3qWjQTOLAlVZlIVCcNzFAdOzfybkSLUIvXfPseawhbDwl EFWXOpNTSAOceZvsH12PvpjJLVIQP0ig9b6Ji2/8rpdmdCPxFay9umrvBuJSh7qe 6NAz6vKH2ivXkBDxuedXlKrJgcgTJK4l4FiKhV7LLMLbzU/H77x5HXxyzhEzhuQ= =a0Gf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
