Well, the thing is that plymouth does report a warning when the fonts
aren't there (for whatever reason the fonts are not there) but continues
installing. Adding a fall back mechanism would make it more robust and
makes it harder to break booting functionality. Would you please
reconsider? I am willing to help testing.
