Public bug reported: When I removed xubuntu-default-settings package, /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/10-xubuntu.conf file was not removed with it. It caused lightdm to stop working, displaying black screen/no signal. After removing 10-xubuntu.conf, lightdm started to work again, with standard 'ubuntu' login screen.
Seems that config file was left after package removal, but required files referenced from that config removed. It caused lightdm to stop working.
