as far as I know, I'm running the last version (0.60ubuntu3). The architecture is Pentium 4 (x86), 2 GB RAM, 2.2 GHz.
The items that I tried to mark are not grayed out after the click, the Apply button doesn't become available and in the "Custom filters/Marked changes" no application is listed. The only modification that I have made to synaptic since this morning (when I installed the OS) was adding the medibuntu and opera repositories, enabling the canonical/commercial repositories (though synaptic seems unable to connect to those) and selecting the visible columns in the preferences.
