Hello all, sorry for disappearing. I was away in a part of the country with no access to the internet at all. My keyboard functions correctly now when Xkbvariant in consolesetup was changed to en_US. However, I still get an error message on start up saying 'error loading keyboard settings' but it doesn't seem to affect anything. Thanks for your advice.
