I just downloaded and installed in a VirtualBox Ubuntu-Gnome 14.04 beta2 32bit.
Out of the box, I changed the "Switch to next sorce" to Alt+Shift L and ""alternative character key" to Right Alt and it works ok. I DID NOT test the plain Ubuntu-Unity installation.
