Indeed, the upstream fix did not reach debian/ubuntu yet. Even Sid does not have it yet, so I guess we'll need to be patient, until 14.10 or something like that. I did, however, bring this to the attention of the Linux Mint developers. Should Mint provide a fixed network-manager-gnome package, it could be made available for download for Ubuntu users too.
